Recordings of Thomas Burt (1900-1987), an African American blues musician from Granville County, N.C., playing country blues on acoustic guitar in an expressive, improvisational style. A few of the songs are blues renditions of gospel material. There is also a long poem in the toast tradition which Burt said he composed in prison.
